The Sentiero del Tidone<\/h1>\n

The <\/span>Sentiero del Tidone<\/strong> <\/span>is a <\/span>69 km<\/strong> <\/span>long trail to go on foot, by bike or on horseback.<\/p>\n

It runs along the entire course of the Tidone Stream, crossing two regions (Emilia-Romagna and Lombardia), two provinces (Piacenza and Pavia) and several municipalities (Rottofreno, Sarmato, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Pianello Val Tidone, Alta Val Tidone, Zavattarello, Romagnese).<\/p>\n

It starts in <\/span>Boscone Cusani<\/strong> (located in Guerra Vecchia) in the Municipality of Rottofreno and runs alongside Po River until the point of confluence with Tidone Stream, and then goes up the stream until the <\/span>Molato Dam<\/strong> <\/span>where, coasting the <\/span>Trebbeco Lake<\/strong>, arrives in the province of Pavia and finishes in the <\/span>source<\/strong> <\/span>ocated in Case Matti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A guided and well-organized itinerary<\/h1>\n

Excluding the few kilometers in which the path distances itself from the stream and uses short sections of secondary roads in asphalt, the Sentiero presents itself almost entirely with compacted earth or gravel and includes the crossing of the stream in some points through fords, which can easily be avoided by cyclists and walkers thanks to short variations punctually indicated with appropriate signs.<\/p>\n

Along the course there are other wooden signs that indicate the route and give information about the progressive distance.<\/p>\n

In the hillier part of Piacenza\u2019s side there are some equipped rest areas and boards that give information on the entire route, as well as on the flora and fauna present in the territory.<\/p>\n

The Tidone’s path<\/h1>\n

The \u201cAlpiniSarmato Group \u2013 Piacenza Section\u201d has adopted the first 4 kilometers of the \u201cSentiero del Tidone\u201d (from Km 0 to Km 4)<\/p>\n

The maintenance of the \u201cSentiero del Tidone\u201d takes place all year round thanks to the associates and to anyone who volunteers to make their contribution to the care of the Sentiero. From 2018, every year the volunteers that offers to maintain the Sentiero receive a certificate of merit during the social dinner of the Association. Below there are some images of the Sentiero\u2019s maintenance and an example of the Certificate of Merit given over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Association \u201cSentiero del Tidone\u201d has, among the main purposes, the one to support and promote the whole Tidone Valley as exploring the Sentiero means discovering the places that it crosses.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sentiero has among its characteristics that of coasting the entire stretch of Tidone Stream, therefore following it is equivalent to self-identify in its territory and among its inhabitants. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Tidone Valley proposes various solutions in order to offer suitable refreshment, both in food and accommodation. <\/span><\/p>\n
